Cara &the crowd is Cara’s personal project created from music and poetry she wrote over the last 20 years. As well as traditional world music she learned while globe trotting.
A musical memoir, of the travels of Cara Lauzon, through South America, Polynesia, The Middle East, Europe and beyond. A live journey of sound featuring acoustic guitar, violin, electric bass, harmonious vocals, and percussion. With a mix of traditional music from around the globe and fusion based originals incorporating poetry from Cara’s travels. With a healthy dose of funk, because who doesn’t like to dance!

Beleza, meaning beauty in Portuguese, is a comprised of Bryant Urban and Cara Lauzon. The duo met on a summer night on the streets of Rockland, Maine at a fortuitous blues jam. Both having spent extensive time in Brazil studying its music, Beleza has an authentic and sweet sound. Bringing to life the tropical beaches and romantic nostalgia of Brazil, join Beleza as they play their beautiful and compelling mix of samba and Brazilian tunes by favorite artists such as Gilberto Gil, Djavan, Caetano Veloso and more.
This is a perfect duo for a small and intimate setting.
